Statement of Intent & Programmes
2019 - 2020
Objective: CYR will promote the game of Rugby Football Union in Cambridgeshire through its RFU Quilter ‘Kids First’ Age Grade Rugby & Youth events and provide support, guidance and information to Member and Associate ‘Out of County’ clubs

Mid- Season Meeting date: Monday 9th December 2019 7pm for 7.30pm at central venue tbd.
Partnerships & Networking: As a partner county of the Constituent Body of Eastern Counties Rugby Union (ECRU) CYR will contribute to, support and adhere to the ECRU Youth Structured Season Plan and regulations (NB this does not make provision for AGR 7-12 activities). All AGR activities will be governed by CRFU as regulated by the Laws and Bye-Laws of the RFU & Bye-Laws of the ECRU.
CYR will maintain close networking relations with officers of the Cambridgeshire University & District Rugby Referees Society, Saints DPP, CSRFU, and Cambridgeshire’s RUFC.
CYR will regularly be in communication with the above to seek views and opinion to guide an improved service to stakeholders. CYR will disseminate information received from the RFU, CPD & Refereeing courses.
The Youth Chairman, or deputising officer, will attend all ECRU Youth Rugby and CRFU meetings, reporting as required.

As last season we will invite coaches to choose the pools they wish to enter in Festival No 1 to ensure meaningful games for the young players as well as assuring every player in a squad/team has minimum 50% playing time in every game; this follows the ECRU/RFU U13 directive.

Hosting Clubs t.b.d – clubs may bid for the event. NB the U13 Festivals will follow ECRU approach viz. no limit on number of teams from any single club together with every squad/team player assured of 50% playing time in every game and following a waterfall format.

NB. Entries to Cups only if a Club can commit to every date and fulfil its playing commitment. Failure to do so will eliminate that club’s age group eligibility to enter Cup Competitions the following season. We will make every effort to support our Associate Clubs who are involved in league programmes to fulfil their CYR Cup commitments but should a conflict of interest arise CYR will decide in favour of Cambridgeshire Clubs.

Blue weeks – School Unions may organise competitions
Orange weeks – Constituent Bodies (Eastern Counties RU is our CB) can organise festivals, tournaments, cup matches, etc.
White weeks – No competitions.
School competitions in blue weeks are mid-week.
The Calendar is not a priority calendar.
All colours do not prevent clubs or schools making fixtures in other weeks.
