Update from Claire White
Back to training for the Under 18's Cambridgeshire squad, which was kindly hosted at Newmarket Rugby Club under their floodlights.
The session was led by Chris Clayton-Smith (Shelford RFC)who is now a qualified coach developer amongst his other qualifications. He was supported by Barry Turner-Flynn (Huntingdon RFC)and James Hodge (Cambridge RFC) who were coaching the forwards and Oz Christie (Shelford RFC)and Jon Evans (Ely RFC) assisted Chris with the backs.
I have been back out at clubs over the weekend, watching Cambridgeshire players in their club Colts fixtures.
It is really useful to see the players in matches outside of the county training sessions. It has been a pleasure meeting clubs members and committee members to listen and share what it working well and to discuss areas for improvement or challenges we face in Cambridgeshire RFC.
My aim is to get to all Cambridgeshire clubs this session to watch the Colts sections, so let me know when you have home fixtures, so we can come along too.
Our next fixture is this coming Sunday against Suffolk at Shelford Rugby Club on pitch 1.
We have a 2pm KO and the Cambridgeshire players would appreciate your home support if you are around and like to see the next generation of adult club players
