Welcome Den!
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Den Dowdle to the role of Cambridgeshire RFU Safeguarding Officer.
Den joins us as the current CUDDRS safeguarding officer and we see this role as complementary to this CRFU appointment.
Many of you will recognise Den as one of our active referees both in senior and junior rugby for and we believe this gives him a unique insight and advantage in helping us to ensure that our clubs, players and visitors enjoy Cambridgeshire Rugby in a safe and secure environment.
On moving to Cambridge Den joined CUDDRS and officiates in senior, junior and college rugby, he is also an assessor and mentor to young referees.
Following a short period of induction and training into the RFU and EC safeguarding processes and procedures Den will be in touch with Cambridgeshire Club Chairs, youth chairs and safeguarding officers to introduce himself and when possible to arrange face to face meetings.
Dens role is to facilitate, assist and support our clubs in continuing to provide an effective and robust safeguarding programme, he will be the central officer for safeguarding activities in the county and the main conduit to the CB and RFU safeguarding team.
He is there to provide help, assistance and advice and be your first point of contact for all safeguarding issues.
Den is passionate about rugby; he will be a huge asset to CRFU and we welcome him to our rugby family.
